The Leopard 2 MBT manufactured by "Kraus Maffei Wegemann" in Bavaria Germany was introduced in 1978 by German Bundeswehr. The Leopard 2 , probably the best MBT up to now, was also introduced with Swiss Army, Dutch forces, Swedish and Spain forces. All the Leopard 2 tanks use the same powerpack manufactured by company MTU.

Some decnical datas of the powerpack:

Lenght: 2,99 meter, width2,27 meter, hight 1,16 meter

Total weight 6120 kg

1500 Diesel horsepower

12 Cyliner with 90°

The set includes the complete powerpack i.e. engine and transmission and the engine compartment. The kit is desigend as conversion for Tamiya´s Leopard 2 A5 and Leopard 2 A6. The set allows one to display the engine separately from the tank with open engine compartment. If one plans to use the set in a diorama with the engine being removed from the Leopard by recovery tank, there is also the sling and the transport frame included.

All texts in instructions are bilingual in German and English. Painting guidelines are given throughout the instructions. At the end of instructions are diagrams showing the cabling and pipework, which should be added using included wires.

In plastic zip-bags one gets 123 resin parts.

A few of included parts are relatively big blocks of resin with nice and crisp details molded on them. Two such parts make up main engine and transmission block and other two big circular parts represent air intake filters with extremely delicate fan blades molded on them. The engine compartment has the diesel fuel tanks and the engine cover lid which fits exactly to Tamiya parts.
